Mr. Fox - Oil Painting by wolfjedisamuel Mr. Fox - Oil Painting by wolfjedisamuel
My first official oil painting since like 10 or plus so years. (I first used oil paint back when I was a kid)
This was our project for our majors painting class this term. It isn't the best but, hey! For a first try in how many years, I'm pretty proud of the result.

(But I still prefer acrylic and or a tablet)

This looks fantastic, Sam.
Much better than I could ever do.
May I ask how this took you?

Thank you so much...
It wasn't easy.

Um, it took me more or less a day I guess...this was when I was SUPER focused...
took like maybe 2 weeks or a month to fully dry

Ah, I see. I just bought some oil paints at a
garage sale the other day and I'm thinking
about doing a painting. Just to get better at
my painting skills.

I'd suggest Acrylic. Preferably my choice...

I've used it numerous times on art and custom toy projects and it dries way better nad has similar results. My batch mates claimed that oil had a better look to it cause it really emphasized the image, which is agreeable in quality, but I like that Acrylic is far more easy to handle.

Lets face it, I have no patience at all...

You will need tinnier or oil paint remover from stores. A very old rug (like a bunch of them). Napkin paper and your canvas if you use oil paint.

Good luck, cause man, for my first time in how many years...it was tough. Love to see what master piece you come up with...

Handsome. Charming. And still a wild animal at the end of the day.

Mr Fox will always be one of my favorite protagonists in animation, and I love what you' e done with him. I almost think this might've been one of his wife's paintings!

I agree with you strongly. Mr Fox still remains a great influence and icon.

Thank you so very much, that means a lot to me ^_^

Yep. One said his stories has good cheesy moments but I never question Roald Dahl's stories; I was too young to know how critique a book and to deep in the moment.

I absolutely loved that book and film! I reckon it has more in common with Metal Gear Solid then what people think. First of all, Boggis, Bunce and Bean are like the Quirky Miniboss Squad, as they work as a group together as three people.

Ash and Kristofferson's relationship is like Liquid and Snake, one of them is the underachiever who hates the other who is much more better, Ash is Liquid, and Kristofferson is Solid Snake. The Diggers represent the Metal Gears,

Mr Fox himself represents Big Boss, also. Felicity herself is voiced by Meryl Streep, and in Metal gear there is another Meryl S. So Felicity is Meryl, also, the way they infiltrate is extremely similar to Snake's infiltration methods.

Also, using blueberries that were spat out by a peashooter, is very similar to the Tranquilizer. The Helicopter represents a typical Helicopter element. And the motorcycle chase is reminiscent of the Shagohod chase. Rat is extremely similar to Gray Fox in the fact that he is an old rival of Mr Fox, who eventually dies near the end, exactly like Gray Fox. The destruction of the underground colony is basically the destruction of MSF. And the Sewers and the Supermarket is essentially the Diamond Dogs. The final raid is essentially the revenge part of the story. So there you have it, Fantastic Mr Fox has a lot of plot in common with Metal Gear. Except, instead of infiltration missions to stop a nuclear war, it's food raids.

i remember that movie, man, the animation was funky at times, but nice nonetheless. and the fact that the guys danced for no reason every time they invaded a house was funny.
